FROM BALTIMORE TO NYC. . .
Soul Sessions Volume 7 brings together two internationally renowned
DJs Aaron LaCrate: DJ/producer/B'more Gutter and Debonair Samir,
super producer and one of the ruling Kings of the Baltimore Club
movement.
Although located in separate cities the pair were able to seamlessly
connect their respective styles from NYC and Baltimore to throw down a
mix that collides genres and generations.
The collaboration resulted in a mix that mashes cultural barriers to
create a musical sound that can be felt from Brooklyn to Bombay.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Aaron LaCrate has deep roots in the music and fashion scene and is a
part of the Triple 5 Soul extended family having worked with the
company's original founder Camella Ehlke back when he was 16. He's
grown to become a lifestyle leader in both music and fashion as owner
and head designer for his own clothing line and owner/producer/lead DJ
of Milkcrate records.
"True Hip-Hop Straight from the Soul", is the response that you'll get
when you ask Debonair Samir what he thinks Hip-Hop music should
represent.
Having a lifetime love and appreciation for the art of music: he has
studied the patterns and rhythms of different genres of music since
the age of 5 when his first DJ gig took place at a family gathering.
As a teenager Samir decided he wanted more. He wanted to be a DJ and
be involved in the making of music that makes people move. Without
many mentors to teach him how to make an impact in the industry
through production and engineering, Samir began to teach himself how
to use equipment and programs that would make his name synonymous with
the who's who in the music biz.
Perfecting the art of track making, re-mixing, production, and
engineering has made Samir a highly sought after industry talent. His
roster includes working with such noted artists as: T.I., Lily Allen,
Busta Rhymes, E 40, T-Pain,Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Alicia Dixon,
Spank rock, Jurassic 5, G-Unit, Monica, Alicia Keys, Ruben Studdard,
Trey Songz and the Young Gunz.
